Northeast
Waterworks High Service & Operations Buildings
Overview:
The Richardsonian Romanesque style, High Service Station, completed in 1888, still houses the steam-powered pumping engine designed by E.D. Leavitt. Adaptive reuse and historic preservation of this historic facility included development of 11 condominium units while preserving museum and community space. Extensive exterior restoration and repair was required of the chimney and masonry facade.
