Worker Engagement

Our projects naturally attract qualified tradespeople of all races and ethnicities. We believe quality construction jobs benefit both the economy and individual workers by providing valuable industry skills and growth opportunities. To expand access, we offer workforce development programs that help community members gain the qualifications needed for entry-level positions in projects within their neighborhoods.

Building Futures

At NEI, developing the next generation of construction tradespeople and professionals is a top priority. Beyond building the project, we endeavor to create lasting growth opportunities that strengthen the communities where we work. We actively support future talent by partnering with Youthbuild programs and vocational-technical schools, giving students hands-on construction experience that prepares them for successful careers in the industry.

Community Engagement

Our community engagement approach goes beyond the property lines of each project. As leaders in affordable housing nationwide, we understand that partnership with local communities is essential to our work. While we recognize affordable housing as a fundamental need, we know communities require more to truly thrive. That's why NEI remains actively involved long after construction ends. We view project completion not as an endpoint but as a beginning—a chance to participate in the ongoing growth of communities where we've built. We're committed to being long-term partners in the places we serve.
